The Mondaine SBB Nord Sud timepiece highlights the union of the two compass opposites, brought closer by the Gotthard Tunnel. At the far north of the Tunnel is the Kanton Uri, represented on the timepiece through the traditional Swiss German welcome Grieazi, embossed above the 12 oclock mark. Below the 6 oclock, embossed on the black leather strap are the local Italian words for good day Buon di, an indication of the Tunnels journey to the Kanton Ticino in the south. The Nord Sud timepiece has a high polished stainless steel case with curved mineral crystal and a visible big date. Its Case back shows the fine crafted official Gottardo 2016 and comes in a beautifully special designed gift box.
