A striking opal, diamond and ruby ring that has been inspired by the Edwardian period. A central cabochon cut opal has been securely millegrain set into platinum. Showcasing dazzling flashes of red, pink and orange this beautiful central stone is perfectly complemented by an inner surround of French cut rubies and an outer surround of romantically sparkling old cut diamonds. The Edwardian period (1901-1910) saw an explosion in jewellery design and craftsmanship. Lustrous and durable platinum enabled minimal and intricate setting styles, which can be seen here in the knife edge elements. This was driven by the royal court, which was steered by the fashion-conscious King Edward VII and Queen Alexandra. Combining the birthstones for the months of April, July & October this will make a beautiful and sentimental dress ring.
